The renovation extended to various buildings and outdoor areas, providing passengers with a more pleasant and efficient travel experience.
Further developments are on the horizon as part of the ongoing project, with plans to expand the airport’s car parks, pick-up and drop-off zones, rental facilities, and shopping areas. Moreover, in January 2022, Roatan International Airport began work on extending the runway to accommodate up to 3 million passengers annually and to facilitate intercontinental flights, reinforcing its role as a gateway to the beautiful Roatán Island and the surrounding region.
