The Epsom Derby is an annual horse racing event that takes place in Epsom, England. It is one of the most prestigious and well-attended horse races in the world, and is often referred to as the “blue riband” of the English flat racing season. The Derby is a Group 1 flat horse race for three-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies, and is run over a distance of one mile, four furlongs, and six yards (about 2,420 meters).
